Self-drive to the Reserve at Bagdad (approx: 1hr from Hobart) - Sign on the Highway, Chauncy Vale Rd. Drive to end of the Road!
Meet there at 10.15am for morning tea on the veranda of the day hut, near car park
The excursion will include a short history of the seserve by Heather Chauncy, then a description of recent renovations by Graham Green. Following this Heather Chauncy Cave will take a walk on the 2.5 kilometre long Circuit Track. This requires moderate fitness, boots or strong lace up shoes! The Winter Track (1.5 kilometres) is a possible alternative.
The afternoon includes a visit to Nan Chauncy’s dome, Day Dawn. The excursion will finish at about 3.30pm.
There is a maximum of 30 participants at a cost of $35 each. This includes entry to the reserve and Day Dawn as well as morning tea and a packed lunch.
