Sherrie-lee Evans is a qualified archaeologist and museum curator, with 20 years experience in natural and cultural resource management in the New South Wales National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS). Professional experience in heritage management with the Australian Antarctic Division, the British Antarctic Survey, the Scott Polar Research Institute, the Australian War Memorial and Heritage Tasmania. Independent researcher in Antarctic history and heritage management. She is currently a PhD candidate at UTAS and is using archival research and oral history interviews to uncover the history of the conservation of Mawson’s Hut Historic Site and the development of the replica hut in Hobart to explore larger questions around the key drivers of cultural heritage management in Antarctica.
